The Board and Staff of East West Players are stunned and deeply saddened by the devastation wrought by the huge earthquake and tsunami in Japan. Our heartfelt thoughts, sympathies and prayers go out to the people of Japan and to all who have been affected by this tragedy.

It will take a massive effort to provide relief to the victims of this catastrophe. Please consider donating to one of the many relief organizations already working in Japan, such as:

MercyCorps (emergency supplies and food): http://www.mercycorps.org/donate/japan
Save the Children (focusing on aid to children and families): http://www.savethechildren.org
U.S.-Japan Council (relief and rebuilding efforts): http://www.usjapancouncil.org/fund
The American Red Cross (medical and disaster assistance): http://www.redcross.org or text REDCROSS to 90999 to donate $10

In the midst of tragedy, the Japanese people have demonstrated remarkable courage, resilience and self-sacrifice. May their spirit renew our own commitment to supporting those in need and fostering an increasing sense of community among those around us.

With hope,
Lynn Fukuhara Arthurs
Chair of the Board
