150x200_LongNguyenFun Fact Friday is back and we’re spotlighting Long Nguyen, who will be featured in our upcoming production CHRISTMAS IN HANOI.

Long Nguyen won Best Actor at the Newport Beach Film Festival for his portrayal as “Long” in the 2006 independent film Journey from the Fall. The film won multiple awards during its festival run such as the San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival and the San Diego Asian Film Festival. It also won Best Feature Film from the Vietnamese International Film Festival. And according to Wikipedia, “The film is notable for having been financed entirely by the Vietnamese American community.”

Long Nguyen will grace the East West Players stage in the World Premiere of CHRISTMAS IN HANOI (February 7-March 10). CHRISTMAS IN HANOI is about a mixed-race family returning to Vietnam for the first time since the war. One year after the death of their strong-willed mother, siblings Winnie and Lou travel with their Irish Catholic father and Vietnamese grandfather to re-connect with their roots. Whether they embrace that past or reject it, they are haunted by their own family’s ghosts and by the phantoms of Vietnam’s long history.
